Working On Goals

A few days ago I decided to really focus on this blog . I think for me writing is becoming my way of venting along with my random rants on Youtube. Today I spent some time at those golden arches(McDonalds) working on articles and what I want to talk about on my radio show. We are going to have a great time on some upcoming shows that I have planned and I am sure you are going to want to be a part of them so visit our radio page on this site for more info.

I am getting more and more focus on the things that I want in 2013 and I don’t care what comes my way I am going to work hard to make sure it goes down. Listen If you want to go to a new place you have got to dream bigger and think larger. You can do anything and it doesn’t take giving all your money away in church. As a matter of fact you can probably get more done if you don’t do that.

Stay focus and the rest will follow!!!!

Facebook Bullies!!!

I don’t know what your experience has been with facebook, but for me it is really starting to get on my last nerve. I started my FB account to really reach out and meet new people and be able to connect with people of all nations cultures and ethnic groups. But for some unknown reason I have gotten into more religious fights on facebook than I ever have in my normal life!

So after reading a friends blog I have come up with 10 ways to know you are a Facebook bully and JERK!

I am doing this to make a point and also when people start a facebook fight I can just refer them to this post as to why I bow out of those from hear on out!!!

Now first thing I want you to do is relax, and don’t read to much into this post its just me talking about what my experience has been with FB. Well here goes:

 What is a bully?

 bul·ly

1  [bool-ee] noun, plural bul·lies, verb,bul·lied, bul·ly·ing, adjective, interjection

noun a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people.

Jerk: SLANG a contemptibly naïve, fatuous , foolish or insequential person. Not a cuss word.

Well according to one of those studies that nobody likes to pay attention to( you know the same ones that show that research is known to cause cancer in rats)..if two Christians disagree with one another online for more tan three consecutive posts there is a 97.3% chance that one of them is going to end up calling the other one a “child of Satan” or something that is the equivalent.

Keeping that at the forefront of your mind, I would like to Just walk trough some ways that some folks have just perfected they way to be a bully and a jerk online:

  1. Move from taking about the substance of the disagreement to attacking the person with whom you disagree.

This gets on my last nerve why can’t we just stay on the topic at hand…nope these folks want to always add or take away from the statements you make to start talking about stuff you are not even talking about. And then turn around and blame you and tell you that you are full of the devil…oh really? People often do this when they can’t win an argument.

  1. Assume you know  what the other person is thinking and believe rather than asking them directly. (Some do this under the guise of discernment…yeah ok)

And the amazing thing about this people do this thinking that what they think about you is the Gospel KING JAMES VERSION TRUTH! And they walk away with their FB chest stuck out like they just told you…and I am always amazed when folks who call themselves Christians do this.

  1. Say things about a fellow brother or sister in Christ that you would never say to their face.(You become the guiltless wonder and spineless jelly back coward.)

Now I have to admit I think I have done this, I have to watch what I say because sometimes we can get so mad that we can go off on people. We need to remember that we are talking to one of God’s children and we need to always remember that.

  1. Don’t read a blog post or comment carefully.

What happens in this case is most folks Just  read “into it” jump to conclusions then go off or get ghetto as we say in the hood! Instead of asking questions to really clarify the persons statements most people will ask questions to start a fight or draw the person out so they can be stoned by the facebook crowd. I have seen this done over and over and even had it done to me!….And most of the time I can see it from a mile away. I participate to really see the heart of the person. I can tell a lot about people by the way they treat others. Speaks volumes.

  1. Put something on Facebook when you are angry or your feelings have been hurt.

Get over Yourself! Crying online makes you look weak and simple.

  1. Presume that you know what people are thinking and know their motives.

You don’t know as much about why people do the things they do as much as you would like to tell yourself.

  1. Ask a question and someone answers your question and you pretend that you did not see it or understand it.

This is the kind of person who will disregard the facts and pretend they are still confused.

I can bet you have seen this happen over and over!!!!

Laws Of Pimp Preaching!

Over the Last few Years I have been doing my best to help as many people as I can to understand if they are being taken advantage of by a pastor. I am not amused by this thing that we call Church anymore. I am not in the business of saving folks sacred cows. Now don’t get wrong I understand this Church and human nature to worship something. But we need to take a closer look at what we do and why we do them.

I would like to give you so signs that your pastor may be a pimp.

  1. Offering First Member last

What I mean By this if your pastor can preach “let the Lord Hit you where God Split you mentality.”

This is the pastor who feels that members can just be replaced. These are some of the most dangerous preachers on the planet. These are pastor’s who really don’t love people. They are in the business of pastoring and making money, And you will see them focus on the money more than anything.

  1. Get a name in the game.

Have you noticed today at how so many billboards and TV preachers are around today? I have never remembered so many when I was coming up. Now some may argue their were not enough tv stations but there were Christian stations around then but at the time there were only two or three that I can remember. 1. Fred Price 2. Carlton Pearson 3. Rev Ike Now these  guys were on  national worldwide tv. I am not talking about your local neighborhood.

Have you looked at how many Christians TV stations on today.

Christian-Movie-TVCable-Channels

It seems to me that we have lost our understanding of Ministry. lost underneath all of the lights and camera’s somewhere there is reconciliation. Now what is that you ask;

2 Corinthians 5:18

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”

What Most Christians don’t know is there is really only one Ministry. Now we have named it TD Jakes “Ministry” Juanita Bynum “Ministry” Mike Murdock “Ministry”  and so many others. And the sad part is most of these folks are not really even doing or being the ministry.

  1. Don’t Chase ‘Em Replace ‘Em

This sort of ties in with number one, but have you ever left a “Church” and gotten a phone call to ask why you left? Chances are unless that Church was very small the answer to that question is no. You know why don’t you? They could care less there whole mission is to just keep going and whoever drops off drops off! and in most cases they will blame you.

  1. Prey on the weak.

The whole Idea of “Church” is you are weak but the Pastor and God are strong. Now mind you the latter of the two is correct God is strong But this whole Idea about the pastor being strong hogwash!. If you look at who goes to church 99.9% of the folks in the building are women. Now don’t get mad ladies I promise I know some of you are not weak but lets face it your are emotional beings. Your whole make up is emotional and to deny that truth is to live in a lie. These preachers mainly men know this so they cater to your emotions to get you in love with the service and also them!

  1. When pastoring begins friendship ends.

Have you ever had a friend that you knew your whole life to become a pastor? It is an interesting Experience. They go from being Joe your Friend to demanding you call them Pastor, Bishop, Apostle, or whatever else. It seem that they loose their identity in this calling. And the funny thing to me is Jesus just went by his name…why can’t they? I have even had Friends tell me this has happen to them.

  1. Preach Like you are member less.

6a00d83452179d69e200e54f2f3c5c8833-640wi

In the new preaching game you preach hard and long and make sure you get these folks worked up because you never know who is listening and watching. They preach the show in order to come get as many folks to watch the performance. Discipleship is on nobody’s mind.  To be honest with you I heard very little about it growing up in “church”.

  1. Give Motivation and Inspiration.

td-jakes1

What you hear on most Sunday’s has very little to do with the bible. It’s the most amazing thing. Sometimes you can even go hear a sermon and the preacher never opens up his bible. I always find this  funny as all get out!. One of the best on the scene today is TD Jakes. He is one of the most interesting preachers today. You have no clue what he really believes because he is worst than a politician he will change his views to please the audience that he is addressing. And as he screams “get ready, get ready, get ready” and all the women scream like Mitt Jagger just took his pants off on stage its AMAZING!

  1. Make Sure you have a Top Ho! (Better Known As the 1st Lady)

The-Sisterhood1

Now some of you will take offense at this one because you might have dreamed to be the top ho, I mean first lady. In the pimping game you have to play one ho against the other ho’s. From what I am told there is a bottom ho and a top ho.  The first ladies role in the church is always very interesting to me. In most cases they do absolutely nothing! And some have the nerve to collect a paycheck for it. Ask yourself if she is the 1st lady what are you? 2nd lady 3rd lady….you get my point. The pastor is not the president so who came up with this idea to call the wife of the pastor the 1st lady…just stupid if you ask me. And why is she the most important woman in the congregation when she does the least! Sexuality, ambition, churchianity, spirituality and elitism. Many pastors’ wives use these to her advantage every day when walking in her role. But in the new TLC Reality series Sisterhood, highlighting some first ladies in Atlanta, lots of folks are in an uproar about the behavior seen. But why oh why? This stuff does really happen, and it’s not just relegated to a minority report. Why do we keep on with this facade of a role in the church that is simply tradition and cannot be biblically found? And yet, we carry on this coveted role in the church because we have to have it. Why? The crazy you identify in this series is happening and chances are, it’s happening at your church.

  1. Turn Members into Dividends

TithingPlate

I have a facebook friend named Kevin, and he was a top ranking official in his “Church” like I was and one of the things that he was able to teach a lot of us was most churches don’t look at folks as members but giving units. They could careless if folks come and go just as long as the money keeps flowing. We have seen time and time again in Church Folk Revolution how  many churches close their doors and take the money and run and the “members” have no idea what has happened.  If you are a member what privileges do you have? Can you list them? Take a moment and have some fun and list what you can do as a member?

  1. The Game is to be sold not told.

In most cases in church today they are selling pipe dreams. Its like a very long infomercial that last forever. They are always selling the theory that you can reach this place called destiny. And in most cases the pastor is telling you that you can’t reach yours without him. They are always selling you that you can be rich and whatever happens to the head is going to flow down to you and they use Aaron for that and its way out of context.

  1. Prosperity over Popularity

Eddie-Long-with-cash-donation

It is amazing to watch the scandal of Eddie Long but he is a classic case of prosperity over popularity. He would rather preach and still collect his cash than to sit his crazy self down. The above photo was taken right after his scandal. These preaches don’t care if you like them or not as long as you keep bringing the money. Clarence McClendon is another example of that!

  1. If You Can See It, You Can Be It

This is the other part of #9. Most folks in church are taught that if you can see it or believe it you can be it or have it etc. Nothing could be further from the truth. These folks just don’t think. If your pastor get’s a Rolls Royce does not mean you will have one also. He has folks giving to him weekly, you don’t have 300 or 500 or even 5,000 people giving to you on a weekly basis for that matter.

  1. Become Internationally Known, Nationally Recognized, and Locally Accepted
